Sunglasses, that is! Jacob loves sunglasses-- he really doesn't have a preference for one color over another. They could be pink, blue, brown, purple, or red! As a matter of fact, he has broken several pair of brown and black ones already, much to my dismay. His little fingers have recently found his sisters glasses stash! And they have amassed a bunch over the years. Most of them are PINK, too! The best thing about little kids glasses is that they are pretty indestructable which makes Jacob a very happy camper!
And Ashley's birthday just keeps on going! Weekend before last we had the party with her classmates and buddies (thank goodness as this past week and weekend was a rainy mess)! So these pictures were from her actual birthday on the 11th-- she picked an ice cream cake-- its her favorite! Can you tell she's happy?

A stranger...
Where did my little girl go? Who stole her away in her sleep and replaced her with this moody big girl? The one that rides a bike with no training wheels (see banged up elbow in photo), the one that doesn't need kisses at bedtime, the only one who ever knew what it was like to be an only child (even though she doesn't remember). Wow do I feel old today!

Happy Birthday Ashley!
When we were trying to figure out what to do for Ashley's birthday this year, the only request she had was that she could invite ALL of her friends. No big deal, right? This time of year with soccer and softball and nice weather, I had no idea whether 3 would come or 20... so after batting some ideas around, we finally decided to have the party at our house. We rented a moon bounce and prayed for nice weather since after about 20 RSVPS we knew having it inside would be extremely chaotic. Toward the beginning of the week, Saturday was looking grim... but by Friday it was looking beautiful. Thank goodness! Ashley has never had a better time. I've never seen her wearing a bigger smile or genuinely giggling as much... and for that all the stress for me was worth it. Needless to say, I was so busy with the party execution that capturing it with my camera suffered. I did manage to snag a few pictures. Hopefully you can see what a great time she had! Thank you to everyone who made it so special for her :)
Time to sing Happy Birthday!
Ice Cream Pinata Time
After most of the line takes a whack...the top of the pinata split...
and with the next hit....the candy drops!
Daddy has a new hat!
Ashley opens presents!
Of course Jacob couldn't let Ashley have all the fun! While she was partying, he was scoping out the ladies at the party... and finally decided that Sydney was his girl. Check this out for all the juicy details:
And a picture of the little guy to close.
