Little Tomboy...

Where did I go wrong? From birth, they've been dressed in the girliest clothes I could find... and now at 5 and 7 all they want to do is wear jeans and sweatpants... they do however love to chase and call boys. We're in big trouble :)

At least the hat was purple!

The crafty side of me...

I've been so busy with work and life...that my sewing machine has collected inches of dust. So over the weekend I cleaned it off to make the girls some headbands. I used a couple patterns, but the one below by Heather Bailey is my favorite. The girls' love to wear ponytails with headbands, so the little tie at the bottom is a really cute touch. You can't really see it if they wear their hair down, so it works either way. I have one more to try that is more tapered toward the ears-- I think that one might be a great choice for little heads, too. This little bit of sewing is making me want to try quilting again.... stay tuned!

I tried to get a picture of Ashley with hers on, but she wasn't much on modeling and this one is actually a little big for her.

First Haircut

It's with mixed emotions that I write this post. I was recently acquainted with the old wives tale that its bad luck to get your child's haircut before their first birthday. I never thought about it with the girls. I wanted their hair to grow-- so we didn't get a haircut until close to their 2nd birthday.... but Jacob's hair was WAY over his ears and collar and getting pretty messy. When I tucked it behind his ears, it was cute... and when Brit or Hannah spiked it up, he looked like Gwen Stefani's little boy. Yesterday on a whim, we got it cut. Here's the before....

And the after....

Snow Day?

No snow as Hannah marched off to school at 7:30 this morning.... but by 9:30 or so, the flakes were falling fast. Ashley was excited, she thought that school would dismiss early and she wouldn't have to go...nope! They went as scheduled and the latest information is that they are staying until normal dismissal. I hope it "sticks" around long enough for the kids to play a little in it after school!

Happy New Year!

For the first time this year... I picked up my camera! Since the girls were at school, guess who the subject was... yep, Mr. Jacob. We all have a new year's resolution this year. I'll post those in tomorrow's post. For today, just some pictures:
